As long as Ford doesn't molest BMW, we're okay. I have visions of Duratec V-6s replacing those venerable Straight Sixes. Not a pretty sight.

As long as Ford lets BMW be BMW, we're okay. If they try to stick Lincoln LS dashboards, V-6s, and Ford Radios into BMWs, then we're screwed.

If Ford tries to turn BMW into German-labeled Taruses, then they're going to lose public interest in the brand. For this deal to be sucessful, Ford's gonna have to let BMW do what it does best: Make kick arse cars.
