On Thursday, April 6, I took possession of my 2000, Imola Red, M Roadster from the Performance Center at Spartanburg, SC. This was a great experience. I was met at the airport on Wednesday by hotel staff and transported to the hotel. BMW provided lodging and dinner on Wednesday and breakfast and lunch on Thursday. Thursday began with driving instruction on the Performance Center track, which included driving their M roadster to experience the handling potential. The instructors were great and they assisted with ABS maneuvers, skid pad, high speed lane changes, and slalom course. They provided about two hours of personalized introduction to my new vehicle as I took possession. I then toured the factory with a factory representative. This was a great experience and I fully recommend taking possession at the performance center. Don't pass it up.
