I suspect he's thinking of those curved plastic wind deflectors that closed cars (I'm sure everyone's seen an 2002 w/ 'em), have for their front doors & sunroof - allowing some fresh air w/o buffeting.

Technically, the Z3 does have "wings". But, they're "fixed". Alas, it's a shame that those have gone away, as they're quite effective.

: : I have a 98 Z3 2.8 that came with the factory wind screen. Very little wind buffeting with the windows up in the cockpit. When the windows are down there is quite a bit at 60mph. I experimented with crude wind wings that I made and they decreased buffeting very much. Does anybody sell wind wings for the Z3?
