Jag is now showing signs of Ford's doing. The first thing Ford did is to get rid of Lucas and that alone did a lot for reliability. But now they are messing with the car itself with the S-Type and upcoming T-Type (the modern day Tin Lizzy?). I would think that Ford would also wait 10 years to screw up BMW *IF* they ever did buy them.

Maybe we all need to start investing in the BMW stock and take controlling interest as enthusiasts. =)

: : As long as Ford doesn't molest BMW, we're okay. I have visions of Duratec V-6s replacing those venerable Straight Sixes. Not a pretty sight.

: : As long as Ford lets BMW be BMW, we're okay. If they try to stick Lincoln LS dashboards, V-6s, and Ford Radios into BMWs, then we're screwed.

: : If Ford tries to turn BMW into German-labeled Taruses, then they're going to lose public interest in the brand. For this deal to be sucessful, Ford's gonna have to let BMW do what it does best: Make kick arse cars.

: BMW will be okay. Jaguar improved quality without loosing its image under Ford's wing. I say it's a little too early to panic.
