I know where the stock rev limiter is and that various software upgrades boost the rev limiter beyond this. How much "play" is there beyond that? Is the updated rev-limit still well within safe bounds? I ask this because I missed a shift today (3rd to 2nd instead of 4th) but I didn't even let the clutch out all the way before I noticed what happened. I did however notice that the needle on the tack was a hair past where my new rev-limit is with the Dinan software. I know that the Rev-Limit won't do anything to save someone from a missed shift but I was just wondering how much if any margin of error exists beyond the rev-limit. I hope I didn't hurt anything. Engine still sounds great and no check engine lights or anything. Your input is greatly appreciated!
