DC..I have seen multiple threads with information provided to readers such as myself regarding stereo upgrades in our Z3's. I have a 1997 2.8 Z3 with the stock stereo. I have 4 total speakers all stock....two kick-panel midranges and two tweeters mounted on top of the doors. I am sure you are familiar with this setup. I have recently purchased a set of Focal Utopia Components to replace the speakers in the front of my car. Could you recommend an amplifier to replace the stock amp...since it is so bad or is it! (1) Should I look for a 4-channel amp and use bi- amplification of the Focal components or can I use bi-amplification with a 2-channel amp? (2) What brand amp would you recommend (Zapco, PPI PC class, MMATS, Infinity or any others)? (3) What should the rms be in my new amp (2x150, 4x100, etc)? (4) I having a custom Kick-Panel made for the new Focals so as to take advantage of their fidelity and a good soundstage...what do you think about this? (5) Should I Replace the stock head unit and 6-Disc Changer to take advantage of the new amp and new Focal Speakers or will the stock head unit do just fine?
