What Happened to BRIGHT RED? (archive)

I saw a '00 Z3 2.8 in Connecticut today and the "red" rodster was orange??!! Looks Like a Pinto Rodster now!!

What happened to the bright red we've seen and loved for years?? It looks like they replaced it (Bright red - 314) with this orange Bright Red II 415) I looked at the guys left front strut to see the different numbers. He had no clue about the color change.

Anybody know what happened? Whose bright (RED) idea was this??
