Actually... yeah, alot of the functions are not duplicated on the unit itself.

i.e. most of the stuff for navigation *requires* the remote.

Plus, the remote is pretty cool! ;) The bottom flips open like a cell phone. Gotta love it!

It really is alot more convenient too, so, I do not have to take my eyes off the road to find the tiny little buttons on the unit.
