I have both an E36/7 M Roadster and a E39 540 and have to say that the E39 is built much better than the E36/7. But the E36/7 is build much better than any American car that I have ever driven. BMW did a great job putting together the Roadsters here in the US.

: Thanks to the kind folks at Yark BMW of Toledo, I am now driving a 528i wagon while my M gets a nose job ( one should not use a BMW to grill pheasant I'm told ). Anyway, as I drove the admittedly very nice car, I was thinking back to some discussions I have seen here on the MB regarding American vs. German build quality and materials quality. Now granted I've only been in the car for a short time, but, aside from flocked A pillars ( which I can't say I *really* need ) I don't see this difference in quality from my "M". Bueller?
