OT Radical way of resetting your car radio code! (archive)

I've seen a related message way down. What my friend had to do when his car radio refused to "co-operate", put the detachable unit into the freezer overnight (well wrapped!).
Next day the code was reset (usually, "0000").

Same trick with power-on passwords on laptops but you didn't hear it from me.
