I have a 98 2.8 and had the same problem a couple of times also. I was thinking about taking the problem to the dealer but never did. Good thing is that it happened a few times only and never happened again for about a year now. I always top-off, never half-full.

I guess just wait and monitor before the dealer cuts-up your carpet. I am glad I did...
