Can Someone explain the Physics of Torque-steer? (archive)

Why does Torque-steer occur in FWD cars? I assume it has something to do with the shifting of weight during hard acceleration. I have never experienced torque-steer in my previous underpowered Japanese econoboxes, but I am sure it is a problem that plagues higher performance FWD cars.
