It was just unfortunate that other major manufacturers were not present at this year's 24 hours. Last year at leat we had BMW, Toyota, and Audi with BMW taking the prize. This year, in all honesty, it was just Audi. If they didn't win it would have been a major upset. I realize that these companies have to sink millions of dollars and tons of man hours into preparation for Le Mans. It would just be really interesting to see all the major manufacturers go up against one another at the same time. Wouldn't you like to see a race with Audi, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, Ferrari, Jaguar, Toyota, and now even Cadillac competing in the prototype class?

: It is a fallacy to create "phantom races" by comparing lap times year to year - especially in an endurance race like Le Mans. Any driver with an ounce of sense will win with the slowest speed possible.

: From the 16 cylinder F1 cars of the 750 Kg formula of the thirties to the present day, Audi vehicles have competed successfully in a number of venues -- perhaps even more than BMW. These include Formula one, International rallying, Trans-Am, Pikes Peak Hillclimb, British and German sedan series and now Le Mans.
