: The car developed a ticking sounds under the hood.
: You turn it on, you hear it, you give gas, you hear it ticking, give more gas, ticking faster. It still drives normal and shifts normal and all that, but that noise definitely doesn't sound normal.
: Any idea? I am calling the dealer tomorrow, would like to have some idea before I do so.

: Thanks!

CYT:

Get a piece of rubber or vinyl hose about 4 feet long. Hold one end to your ear, and move the other around the engine.

CAUTION: BE REALLY CAREFUL YOU DON'T GET YOUR HAND CAUGHT IN SOMETHING MOVING!!!

When you get near the "ticking" component you will be surprised how clearly you hear it.

If you feel like spending bucks you can buy auto stethoscopes but the hose works well.
