Thanks, I already hit up the Costco sized bottle of coppertone and picked up some new shades. Still gotta get a hold of a cap. As far as the alarm goes, I don't think its a key fob problem. The fob causes a tripple-chirp but without arming or locking anything. Probably an open switch or something somewhere I would imagine. I'm pretty settled on getting the ungo, but I'll probably get the factory one fixed until I get the time to install the new one. So at least I'm not running around with my pants down.

: : Well, this past week has been my first week w/ my new baby:

: : 1996 Z3, Atlanta blue, black top w/ tan leather, heated seats, OBC, 32k miles, under warranty through the end of the year.

: : The biggest adjustment so far is learning that as much as I want to, I can't run w/ the top down all the time in the Fresno sun. I haven't been this tan in years.
:
: 2 words -- "Hat" and "Sunscreen". Keep both in the car, and use as needed.
:
: : Anyhow, on to the business at hand. While the car is immaculate in almost every regard, the BMW remote keyless/security system is inoperable. Does the alarm fall under the warranty? If not, is it worth fixing or should I just go w/ an aftermarket Ungo?
:
: Lots regard the BMW alarm/entry as "limited", but I think there is a way to reset the key fob. Try the archives, I think it was answered before.
:
: : Secondly, does anyone have or know of a site with scans of the '96 sales literature?
: : TIA,
: : J.D.
:
: Can't help you there
