I've had Motul 600 in my Z for 6 months...more (archive)

I had the dealer to a complete flush, including the clutch system. They used all 4 pints. The anti-lock and clutch hydraulics are why I had the dealer do it. Motul 600 is good stuff! I haven't had any problems.

: I just replaced the brake pads in my car with new Carbotech ones. The front pads are HUGE - as big as my hand. The rears look tiny by comparison.

: I now have 4 pints of Motul 600 brake fluid that I intend to put in my car next weekend. My brother has a new "pressure" bleeder, designed for BMW & Mercedes cars.

: Reading the fine print concerns me, though: "Mixable with DOT 3 / DOT 4 / DOT 5.1 fluids." Great! Then it says "Do not mix with silicone or mineral base fluids (LHM)." Well, I thought that most brake fluids are mineral based. Two old bottles of cheap brake fluid in my garage are made of "polyglycol Ethers". Don't know what this is, but sounds like it could be either.

: I am happy to switch fluids, and have read that many here have done so. But I am NOT willing to flush the system with alcohol or some such, first. Besides, as DIY-ers, we don't have access to the ABS reservoir, with the "30 valves" and such. Thus, flushing wouldn't help.

: Is the stock BMW M brake fluid compatible with Motul 600?
