: Hey Group,

: I just read the following on Racing Dynamics' web site.

: The Racing Dynamics EMS brings your BMW alive. It has reprogrammed fueling, spark and rev limits. A reprogrammed EMS with an RD power system has an increase of about 20% in performance.

: Is this possible? I have an M Roadster, and this would result in 288 BHP, which is pretty amazing, add a good exhaust, and 300+ BHP is just around the corner.

: 2000 BMW 323Ci Coupe

This is NOT my 2 cents worth. Just recalling an article read in either Car& Driver or Road & Track about a year ago. (maybe longer) Subject was "performance chips" Bottom line was, in spite of manufacturers claims, dyno and other testing methods resulted in about 15 HP gained in a 225 HP (stock) vehicle. This was the BEST of their results. Most fell short of that in the area of 8 to 10 HP and noted that little increase couldn't even be noticed by "seat of the pants" measurements. They commented that "imagination" and "expectation" played the major role in how owners evaluated their individual results. I don't know, I have the stock chip in mt 98 ///M but may get a Dinan or JC in order to eliminate the speed and rev restrictions of the stock set up.
