Finally changed my oil today, after 9600mile/15mon (archive)

It could be psychological, but the engine seems to be more responsive now. Use to be when I jam on the gas pedal, there was a half second delay before the engine reponse, plus there's no more bucking in first gear.

Also, owner manual says the capacity is 6.9 qts, but I put in only 6 qts and it already reached the upper notch in the dip stick, does it mean there was about one qt of used oil left in the engine before I put in new oil? Is it possible to drain all the oil in the engine?
