Most of us, including me, believe that the original suspension was superior, but if you slam on the brakes on a corner at 135 mph, then you are going to swap ends. Many of the folks purchasing this car were not experienced sports car drivers, and were taking the car well beyond it's limits. The majority of the 50 or so accidents occurred at speeds usually well in excess of 120 mph and to my knowledge, all occurred in Germany. A famous German race car driver was killed, but at speeds over 100 mph and on snow tires (Duh)!
I am personally not crazy about the new "improved" suspension, as Audi has introduced more understeer to make drivers feel the limits sooner. For that reason, I have installed H&R coilovers and the original control arms, to restore the quicker steering ratios.
But the car is a very good handler, and is not unsafe, in my view. I like the looks a lot too, but implying that it is all show and no go is both unfair and inaccurate.
With regard to Denny, no she is not a bitch and was posting her comments in good humor. I respectfully disagreed with poking fun at another's pride and joy, but we can agree to disagree. Other than that, she is generally pretty cool. Far from a tech wiz though!
