--check with the feds www.nhtsa.dot.gov for procedure for getting airbag switch
--fyi - the '01 Z3 also has side airbags. the front ones are so-called generation II or depowered airbags and they are 2 stage... less explosive activation for less severe crashes.
--check with bmw customer service (you can find the # at www.bmwusa.com) for the official corporate line on your situation. in general, bmw recommends putting children in the rear center seating position -- not possible on Z's.
