I see Andrew already has one way to get a hose permanently connected to the box without making a large hole. I thought of another this AM -- Get a 4 inch to 3 inch reducer and then follow the Fogg steps from there. Almost: The opening is under 3 inches, so I punched out the two rivets (with a BIG hammer) and slid the inner tab farther in. Nice, tight fit.
