Does the BMW system have the ability to type in a specific street address and the system takes you there, turn by turn? The Never-Lost system does, even in a small town like Nyack, NY (much smaller than Little Rock). Unfortunately, I believe it may be proprietary to Hertz vehicles.

To be honest, the display on the BMW system looks pretty primative compared to the Never-Lost system, so I'm wondering if it's like the BMW phones compared to current state-of-the-art digital wireless phones (i.e., a poor, but expensive, imitation).

Yes. I have the BMW navigation system on my 98 Z3. It works as well but I don't have any experience with any other system. My only complaint is that Little Rock is not mapped at the street address level. It does great when we go to Dallas or Memphis. Also it is hard to hear the voice commands with the top down. The volume is adjustable but the speaker is too deep in the foot well to compete with wind and semi truck noise. Of course the display give you all the information anyway.
