unlike cars, where every new generation gets bigger, heavier, and occasionaly more powerfull (however usually at the expense of a larger motor), motorcycles (especially crotch rockets) get lighter, more powerfull, more compact, more high tech (trick suspension such as single sided swing arms, fuel injection, ....), higher reving, same displacement, bigger tires, larger brakes, etc.

there is no vehicle as high on performance and low on budget as a good crotch rocket. just think about it. 150hp, 390 lbs, 13,000 rpm redline, 190/40 rear wheel, 0-60 in 2.8 sec, 1/4 mile in less than 12, ....... all that for roughly $10,000 brand new.
