From what I understand, to get the top to fit correctly it is tough to do and not really a DIY project.
I'm in the process of getting quotes for a hartop installation for my M roadster. I was disappointed to learn that the quoted installation cost for my local dealer is approximately $600.00 (est. 6 hours to install).
Has anyone out there attempted to do a hartop conversion project themselves? If so, can you summarize the installation process for me on the message board? Also, how does the project rate in difficulty to, say, a trunk-mounted CD changer or the univesal garaged door opener in the armrest? I have installed both the CD changer and the UGDO successfully, so I am contemplating doing the hardtop conversion myself.
Thanks in advance for any feedback and/or suggestions.
