Uff, this track report safed my neck and brought back my freedom... The outcome of this track report is exactly the same that we have seen in previous track reports in German car magazines... On top of it, it reflects my opinions about the boxter S and the ///MZ3, based on own experience. (Unfortunately I have no experience with the other cars so I will not burn my mouth by making false statements here)! But I have been attacked on this board by stating exactly what is the outcome of this test! Period
Believe me, I’ m absolutely in love with the handling characteristics and the sheer braking power from the boxter of my colleague. And I could have easily bought such a car, instead of my arctic silver ///MZ3, but this wouldn’t have been what I was looking for – A roadster in its purest form. – Long motor hood, short aft section. As I have posted several times, my car should look as close to a “Shelby Cobra” as possible. If this is your goal, then only the ///MZ3 will do it.
As many others on this board, I’m in deep love with my arctic silver ///MZ3, but I don’t loose the horizon for its advantages and also not for its disadvantages. But even then I wouldn’t assume that all my judgement for the car is based on strictly objective facts.
Terefore here’s my advice for those who care: Feel good with the awesome power and torque of the ///MZ3 beast, change the brakes to the Porsche ones and then be the king on the public roads. You will typically not come very often in a situation where the better handling of the boxter S will pay off versus the faster acceleration capabillities of the ///MZ3.
And unless you’re names not Andretti or Schuhmacher... do not forget to improve your driving skills (me included), or the faster guy on the next corner will leave you behind in his dust...

Happy motoring to all of you

Roger
