weight. Plus you can custom tailer the sound you want (to some degree). Check out the MZ3 website for a photo and ask some of the guys on the Z3 Coupe MB. There a couple of autocrossing guys that have done this.

Even if I do not get any performance gains, you can not bet the price of $160 and the weight of the exhaust.
