Jeff+Tom,

Throttle cables and such should only be lubricated by graphite powders and such. Petroleum based lubes are a bad idea as they can freeze/harden up in the winter and cause binding in the cable. You could potentially get you throttle cable stuck partially open driving down the highway or stuck closed after a cold night.
