Hehe, hey Steve, thanks--I guess I was a little stressed out (work is just a little crazy) and took things too seriously. I appreciate your response and know realize that I was a little too uptight (and besides it was my first post and I shouldn't have gotten so hot and bothered! ;).

Anyway, I see what you're saying, and thanks for the info about the new M, as I didn't know any of that, and hadn't gotten that info anywhere else. Let me end right now by saying that I need a lot of rest (too little sleep) and can't fully respond to everything you've said, but I see where you're coming from now and I appreciate your taking the time out to explain what you meant, so let me offer an apology for being short with _you_, and here's to a hopefully better relationship in the future! Relax Pal, it's your first day posting on this board. Many of us have been around here for years now, helping others whenever possible. That does not however, give us the right to offend even a newbie, and that certainly was not my intent. So allow me to apologize.

I sincerely meant that it was "sad" that you weren't totally happy with such a really nice new Z3. I would love to have that new 3.0 engine in my 98/2.8.

The part about the "grass not always being greener" was just that. I have driven and raced M roadsters on several occasions. They're fine cars, but there are certain things I do not like about the M roadster, and many things that I do love tremendously about the M, over my 2.8. I will tell you this, if you put a Dinan CAI, chip, and exhaust on your 3.0, you will have very close to the same 0-60 times and acceleration. At least with the current M roadsters. The M engine gets it added pull further up in the revs and speeds. You have a car that's over 300 pounds lighter than the M roadster for more spirited "lighter" fun around town handling. Get out on the highway past a buck and a quarter, and the brute power of the M will eat you for a snack. It all depends on what you want.

So far as my comment on the options, it was an accurate answer. You should buy the items YOU will enjoy. I could tell you the first thing to buy is a windscreen, but you may love the wind in your hair!

My last comment was also truthful. If you really feel that you may want to trade up to the new 2001 M roadster in only a few more months, you would for the most part be wasting your money for accessories because dealers all want the cars traded in to be totally stock.

And one final thought so you really see where I'm coming from. I would hate to see you buy the 2001 M roadster unless you were aware that a total new "next generation" is coming out in 2002 or early 2003. I was talking on several occasions with the German engineer who is designing these cars at Homecoming. It might be something you may want to consider. (:
