Don't know if it is just coincidence, but my old Honda del Sol's visors didn't swing out either. Perhaps there is some safety issue with having visors sticking out without an accompanying roof over them? Or maybe manufacturers are afraid they will get bent down or off without that roof to protect them? I don't really know, but what I can say is. . . every time I thought about it, I also thought how silly it might look to have a visor sticking toward the back with the top down! I know it doesn't help, but that's all I ever came up with.
