I've been doing it off and on for several years, and this year I decided to be committed to it. I'm doing ok, but I know I could be a LOT better.
One of the local autocrossers who can drive just about anything took my car out and smoked me pretty harshly.

Ask instructors to ride along with you ever chance you get, and don't be too prideful to accept criticism, and practice practice practice!!!
