I have been autocrossing for about 10 years now and the first time I took the MZ3 out I was all over the place. I am no where near national level but I can thread my Miata through gates that I won't try in the MZ3 for a few years. Once you get the car figured out (and setup for autocrossing) you will be amazed at what you can do. Autocross tires are the next step, you will get almost twice the grip as the best street tire (at least it will feel that way). Read all you can, talk to everyone you can find,but get your butt out there and drive! Nothing replaces seat time. I was going to an event every weekend when I was really into it. Now I go about once a month because my free time is more precious. Still get a big grin though!
