Ummm, interesting – what makes this interesting is the recommendations from the dealer and the owner’s manual. Ya see, if the rag top must be down while the hardtop is installed – well this flies-in-the-face of the instructions.

The dealer tells me the reason folks have the “rear window separation problem” is that they don’t follow the instructions within the manual. The owners manual says: (something to the effect of) Do not leave the roof in the lowered position for extended periods of time.

Of course, I could act like the President of United States and say that it all hinges on the definition of EXTENDED.

Perhaps another expression comes to mind: Pass the buck?
