Wattage itself means nothing, it's all about the quality. Don't forget, 10 times the wattage for 2 times the volume.

HCCA 225 (Hi Current Competion Amplifier) from Orion is capable of running 1/2 Ohm mono or 1/4 Ohm stereo. Which means that you can literally pull just about 800 wats out of the thing with some creative speaker wiring. You lose a lot clarity that way, and the Amp gets as hot as the sun. It's great for bass which cares much less about clarity then mids and Highs.

Personally I would suggest amps from;

ADS, Orion, Precision Power, Linear Power, Hifonics, Lanzar, McIntosh.

I have an ADS 4 channel by 75 watt amp, and it absolutely screams!

You can't compare specifications from one manufacturer to another. Some test a sine wave at 10% distortion and then print the number in bold graphics all over their box.
