after the car had been at the dealership for a day the service adviser or what ever the call the guy thought to mention and I quote here

Needless to say I didnt like that a bit but what could I do at that point???
Seems what they told me was the problem was getting the wiring straightened out for the defroster-- according to them the wiring looms have some variance in the different models and that-- apparntly-- caused the confusion--
Anyway im gonna tackle the rear win defroster next I guess LOL

Watch that you don't tighten the top too much. You can cause the area under the rubber seal to become scratched. You can also cause the windows to bind when they go up.
Sorry to hear that you are having a problem. My dealer installed my hardtop. They had one mechanic who could tackle these type of installations, and only one. I get the feeling that correctly alligning a hardtop is a little tricky.
