Not sure which "bit of info" might interest me...? I am sorry you had an accident, and I am curious about what happened, and surely glad you walked away. I do collect pics of Z3 accidents so that would be interesting- do you have pics?

Is it the part about the Strong Strut surviving? I can not remember ever commenting on strut brace survival- although I was once cautioned that if I had an accident on one side of my car, that a strut brace (any strut brace) could cause damage to the other side of my car, transferring the impact. I'm no engineer but that does make sense- still I like my strut brace and I will keep it, just like my Cold Air Intake might make my car subject to hydrolock, and my Supersprint exhaust might melt my bumper (ok not so serious)...

I can not imagine much of anything hurting my strut brace or anyone else's, although some of the arguments presented during the recent Strong Strut debate were very interesting, particularly where the holes were concerned.

I do remember commenting on the use of ALL CAPS though, as I do know a little about Netiquette.

I know really nothing about the mechanics of our cars and never have pretended otherwise. (Although I have managed to swap out an arm rest and "install" a clear windsreen.)

One of these days I am going to post a $100 reward for anyone who can find any post where I claimed to know anything mechanical about camber plates, engine displacement, superchargers, forced induction, tires and wheels, exhausts, stereos or strut braces...that wasn't a simple observation or repeated from a more knowlegeable (and attributed) source.

For the record: Everything I "know" about cars built after 1972 I learned here from someone on the Message Board, and I still would refer everyone to, Shawn Fogg, DC and hosts of posters who actually do know something about these cars.

I do know this though- the pedal on the left makes the car go faster....

Oh, and scan the last few weeks for posts about the M roadsters that folks have put up for sale. I am pretty sure I saw one that was Imola Red.


I once read that you had concerns about how a strut brace would affect the design crumple of the vehicle. I have the answer first hand if the accident is head on or almost so.
