Unfortunately my used 2000 Z3 2.3 came without fog lights. I was reading a post on the ///MZ3.net site about a fellow who installed the factory fog lights in his 99 model in 50 minutes. I ordered the lights from the dealer and did the installation...the lights went in the front facia as advertised but the wiring plug was not behind the dash blank switch location as expected so it took 3 hours to carefully disassemble and reaasemble the dash...the end result is great!! The lights look like they came from the factory with an in dash indicator light when on and of course the switch and lights fit perfectly...now I only hope my dash doesn't develop squeeks or rattles after it's disassembly and reassembly. I think I'll rest up and then perhaps try an install of the CD player.

I did the same thing you did but got my nephew who has smaller hands and a coat hanger to fish out fog light connector behind instruments panel. Fog light worked great only somewhere in the process the left highbeam got disconnected. As you said, we had already spent a couple of hours on what was supposed to be a 50 minute job. I took my Z to the dealer and told them the truth that I was trying to save money and installe the factory fog lights my self and in the process may have disconnected the left high beam. 45 minutes later I had my car back with all lights working. I asked what the cost was and it was nothing ! Just my testimonial on this subject and hurrah for Prestige BMW.
