I did the same thing. You would thing that because the car is about 4 feet shorter than most other cars that we would learn that you don't have to pull up that far. After I did it my wife did it too. It depends on how big the gouge is. I used some fine sand paper to smooth it out. Then I took a drop or two of touchup paint and mixed it with talc to make a thick mud. I "spatulaed" it in the gouge and let it dry. Then I sanded lightly again and used touch-up after that. It came out all right. Just don't sand to far away from the gouge. Keep the area contained to just a little around the gouge.
