Hey question guys. I took my 1996 1.9 in to Chicago area dealer right before end of warranty to inspect a few items - one being the cracked rear window (I had 2 small cracks, seemed like creases that turned into cracks).

Dealer said that rear window replacement was not covered under warranty. Says normal wear & tear.

I got a call from BMWNA asking about my most recent dealer visit, yada yada. I told them I didn't get a clear answer as to how BMW determines "normal wear & tear." I also told them (after reading y'alls posts here) that there seems to be discrepancies as to the type of work covered by warranty depending on dealership.

Question - Have any of you had your rear window replaced for free under warranty? If so, can you list the name of the dealership that provided this service?

I want to speak with BMWNA again with this info in hand.

Much obliged.
