Try to do the following: (helps prevent from starting)
1.) Lower windows before unlatcing roof to put down.
2.) Raise + Latch roof before raising windows.
3.) Use care and not slam roof down against winshield section. Care goes a long way.

Try the following if still leaks:
1.) Open doors and raise windows all the way. Then close doors with roof latched down.
2.) Try moving the rubber pieces to mate tighter.
3.) Find some rubber like mooshie material to wedge between the windshield rubber section and roof. A pain in the A but necessary if raining and dealer cannot fix at the moment.
4.) Problem persists, bring to dealer.

I love BMW autos. Minor issues on all my cars. The German made ones have shown better quality and dependability, but the Z is above Ford, Chev, Nissan, etc. Leaky roof is the one issue that I have serious problems with. Look at the design on other soft-tops and see the BMW. The designer for the top must have been fresh out of school. Yet still no noticable improvements made on recent releases. Leak has happened to me twice now in 2.5 years. Keep in mind though, no soft-top can be totally leak proof. Only assumed that 35K+ on an auto it would take longer to happen.

I know other readers have posted suggestion regarding leaks in the Z3 top (driver's side-front edge)since I've never had a problem until yesterday, I did not read the solutions offered by the readers. If you have had a similar problem and a solution would you please advise. Thanks
