I also have to park my car outside. Here is the solution: Buy a Z3 solutions Noah or weather shield custom car cover with the ding protection built into the sides and a lock for the cover. Wax your car at least once a month and always keep it clean (to prevent dust on car from being rubbed into paint from cover). If you do this, you wont have any problem keeping your car outside. I can tell you that my old Z3 was left outside for two years and, with regular washes and waxing still looked brand new when I turned the car in. BMW has made great strides in reducing the effects of ultraviolet light and oxidation on the paint. you just have to take special care to keep the car clean and not to let birdcrap and other contaminents (even evaporated rain) sit on the paint for too long-where they can get burnt in by the sun. If you follow my suggestions you really wont have any problem. good luck and enjoy.
