Need advice on 2001 M Roadster (archive)

Well, after much debate I think I'll be purchasing a 2001 M Roadster some time next year. Since I've only bought used cars in the past, I'm looking for advice on what to expect especially since I might have to pre-order? I'm working up the nerve to go into the dealership but don't want to go in without knowing what to expect. ANY advice is greatly appreciated.
