Spent $1400 on amps, preamp/cross-over, and speakers. Add to that a 2nd hand OEM in-dash CD and 6 disk changer. All the above were found on sale or else from ebay or the good folks on this message board. Did the install myself. That alone took 5 evenings and a weekend (phew!). Well worth it though.

Can this be so? I am in shock. I was told that they rebuild the speaker area between the seats (push it out & make it taller) install 2 smaller speakers replacing the factory stock. Replace the kick panel speakers, and the door speakers and install amps to power it all. They told me that it will look as good as new, but the sound is incredable and I would not lose any trunk space. I am not ready to do this, I am still shopping & thought I would run past you (the experts). I don't know what to do to improve the sound! I am not able to to any of this myself.
Thanks for your advice.
