A little known fact about old alfa's and fiats. They are basically sold from the factory as WORKS IN PROGRESS. Sure all the parts appear to be in working order- but it is a trick. You see they give you the mechanicals and all the electronics in unsorted order and over the next ten years your job is to figure out where everything was supposed to go and what parts where not supposed to be there at all. All while, hopefully, not going up in flames. ALL of my italian cars spent more time with the hood open and their guts around my garage then they ever did on the road. A fire-extinguisher should come standard. I love italian cars but no longer have the incredible amount of time and patience needed to maintain them. They are probably the most unreliable POS you can ever own but NOTHING sounds or drives as beautiful- italian cars are the automotive equivalent of crack cocaine. They're deadly, take all your money, and occupy all of your time, but the rush is incredible.
