Last night I fitted a new Kenwood Mask to replace my old Kenwood Mask which developed a lighting problem.

One thing that struck me straight away was the amount of distracting flashes and displays on the front. It has a new multi-shade-of blue display which features grapgic equalizers and small cartoons.

Whilst I was looking through the manual to find how to turn these off, it made me think how many accidents could be caused if you were distracted.

Surely in-car navigation must be the final nail in this thinking. With or without a voice telling you where to go next, it is human nature to want to look at the map.

Finally my audio dealer told me that most after market in-car multimedia systems (TVs) work whilst the car is in motion. Scary.
