It's made of black Delrin plastic. Nice feature is it's all black so you can't see it's there. The rubber boot that fits over the stock one fit's right onto his. Definitely more comfortable shifting now.

I put the MZ3 shift lever in my 97 2.8 and also think it's great. I got the lever and then bought Ron's tools for removing the retainer ring from the top. No need to get under the car. A word of caution...I seem to recall this lever won't work in the 2.3 unless it's bent. Check with Ron as I'm sure he supplies these.


I've read the article on putting in the MZ3 shifter in a Z3 and decided to order the parts. Who out there has done this mod? Any tips, tricks or traps I need to know about for install? Are you happy with the results?

I'm also considering altering my clutch stop and don't know what parts I need. Any input on this mod?
