In general, any shortening of the shifter is going to increase the amount of effort required...but I have gotten quite used to it and fully appreciate the performance the short throw gives.

I am thinking about changing out my existing shifter for a short throw type. I have two questions.
1. My tranny shifts are notchy and when cold requires a fair amount strength to shift. Does this effect become worse with a short throw shifter?
2. Recommendations for a high quality shifter?
