There certainly be a closer look at how the Electoral College works. Although, historically, the Electoral College does nothing more than vote the popular vote I wouldn't expect it to be gone anytime soon. Without an Electoral College the smaller states would hear nothing from a candidate while the more densely populated states would be inundated with campaigning.
I would expect that there would be more states that allow the Electoral College delegates of thier state (the states dictate the policy of thier own votes) more flexability in thier vote such as electoral votes that are split between candidates to more match the popular vote.
Of course, thats just my opinion...I could be completely full of $h1t.
The closeness of the race in Florida gives Gore every right to demand an accurate count of the votes cast. I think this election has demonstrated that the Electoral College system is an antiquated relic of the 18th Century and has no relevance in this day and age. The President should be elected by the popular vote of all the voters. It is time for a Constitutional Amendment that dismantles this archaic institution.
