I put a Remus on my '96 Z3 about 3 years ago and love it. The sound is deep but not too loud. You can feel it as much as hear it. The older cars were easy to install - the muffler was attached at the back of the cat converter with 2 bolts. It took about 30 minutes to install including jacking it up. I've heard the newer Z3s now have a single pipe that has to be cut - I did that to my '00 323Ci.

I opted to put the Supersprint on my 323Ci. It's been on about 2 months and I am a little disappointed. No where near the change in sound that I got from the Remus - hard to tell a difference from stock.

Remus is the better of the 2 from my experience - but in the end it all comes down to personal preference. Recommend you find someone local who has one/both and listen for yourself before you buy.

Which sounds better on a 1.9, and is there any difference in performance/sound/ease of installation?
