A couple of days ago I bought a Bel 980 (I know, I know...but $400 bucks plus shipping??). I used it once, and the next time I plugged it in, it was dead as a doornail. I checked its fuse and sure enough, it was blown, so I replaced it with the supplied spare -- but still no-go. It seems to have fried itself. Tomorrow, I'll go fight for a replacement or refund.

The question is, what could have caused it to commit seppuku so quickly? I'm driving a 2000 M roadster with no known electrical problems. Has anyone else had this happen?
