So I have some questions that I hope some of you can answer.
1) Can't find a trunk release from the inside. Is there one?
Nope. This is a convertible. It wouldn't be secure if you had a trunk release ;-)
2) Can't open the trunk with the door key. Does this car have a separate key for the trunk or is my trunk lock broken?
The lock has different ways of opening. You can lock the trunk by turning the key clockwise and then remove. But using the ignition key, and turning it counter-clockwise should unlock the trunk.
3)At the car sale, they tried to sell me a whole bunch of after-sale things. I didn't go for the CD-changer ($499-) 'cos there was supposed to be a CD-player in it. However, there wasn't a CD-player in it, but then I found a CD-changer in the trunk. So I think these people were trying to get me to buy something that was already there. Does this car come with a factory-installed CD-player or CD-changer?
The CD changer is an option. However the car comes prewired for one in the trunk
4) They also sold me a chapman alarm. They said the car didn't come with an alarm system. That they put an alarm system on each car in their lot to protect them until they're sold. Then, if the purchaser doesn't want to pay for the alarm, they remove it. Does this car come with a factory-installed standard-equipment alarm? My car has a "BMW alarm" sticker on each door, so even if the alarm isn't standard equipment, it seems to me that it was implied as included in the price at time of sale.
Again, this is an option. They all have the alarm sticker.
5) The engine light is on all the time. I have closed the gas tank properly, but it is still on. The car was supposed to be serviced and cleaned up, etc., prior to going on sale. Can anyone suggest anything I'm doing wrong that causes this light to remain on?
You were on the right track to suspect the gas cap. If the car was topped off, then you may have to wait a while for the light to go off.
If it doesn't clear in several days, then I would have someone check the error codes.
Sorry this message is so long! Anyway, hope you can help!
